This sweet couple was looking for an elegant, romantic wedding filled with varying shades of lavender and plum.  I don't typically work with these colors, so I was really excited to get my hands on something a bit different.  So happy with how everything turned out!

Neutrals are always a favorite of mine - just take a look at my closet!  Classic centerpieces and bouquets with lush greenery and soft tones were perfect for this couple as well.  And when the bride requested a cascading bouquet I was all over it!  Bring on the cascade for 2018!

If you are looking to have an elegant garden wedding then the Chicago Botanic Gardens is definitely the perfect venue!  In collaboration with Beso Events and Maria Harte Photography we created a dreamy garden party featuring oversized florals, luxe linens, the perfect ceremony spot, and one of the most incredible wedding cakes I've ever seen.  Everything was straight out of a magazine.

Vanessa + Edgar

Tajalli Missaghi

How have I not yet posted this gorgeous wedding on my blog yet I have no idea.  Vanessa and Edgar are the sweetest couples.  One of those couples that when they look at each other you can just see the love in their eyes and in their hearts.  I had so much fun working with them to create the perfect fall Chicago wedding at a local venue, The Carleton of Oak Park.  Vanessa wanted tons of greenery, moody blooms, and plenty of candle light.  I think we achieved all of those things.

Sometimes you get insanely lucky as a floral designer to meet a bride who puts complete trust in you and your designs.  And when that happens, magic happens.  I had so much fun creating a modern, elegant wedding for Caroline and Adam at The Dawson.  We were pleasantly surprised by the unseasonably warm November day which made this fall wedding truly perfect.

Happy New Year!

Tajalli Missaghi

Bring it on 2017!

This year was incredible.  I honestly couldn't have done it without the support of my family and the amazing clients I've worked with.  Seriously though, I have the BEST clients!  So honored they let me be creative and to make magic on their wedding days.

I've learned and grown a lot this year and I can't wait to see what's in-store for 2017.  Growing as a florist and a business has been a process, but after 2 years of The Petal I can finally say I'm completely confident and happy with where my brand is going, who I am as a designer, and all the possibilities for the future.

Here are some highlights from this year.

It's freezing outside, so I'm just going to chill in front of my computer and look at pretty pictures of flowers and happy couples.  Amanda and Max were a pleasure to work with.  When I heard she wanted an Italian Mediterranean theme for her big day I was all over it.  Here are a few photos from the amazing photographer Sally O'Donnell Photography and some taken by yours truly.

I was so lucky to work with such a sweet couple for a wedding in spring of this year.  They were so happy and easy-going it made it so easy to work with them.  It was such a pleasure.

The bride requested rich, vibrant colors to compliment their traditional Chinese wedding.  The balance of the rich pinks, purples and blush tones complimented the venues red and gold accents.  And that archway!  Boy was it a pain to get it in and out of the courtyard of the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, but it was totally worth it!

All packed up and looking amazing.
