Shikha + Aman

Tajalli Missaghi

Could this couple be any more handsome and photogenic? Every photos is more stunning than the next. And don’t get me started on Shikha’s showstopping dresses. I can’t pick a favorite…and I won’t! They are both exquisite.

We partnered with Phos Events to hang chandeliers and florals down the aisle for the ceremony and it was epic! Since this was a room flip we made sure the head table was right under the gorgeous chandeliers to create an amazing focal point in the room. It was magical!

Ashley + Tyler

Tajalli Missaghi

Right in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic while most of our clients were postponing their weddings and we were feeling pretty bummed about missing out on an amazing wedding season we get a call from Ashley + Tyler and it completely made up for such a disappointing year. Their florist backed out at the last minute and they trusted us to quickly design and execute a wow of a wedding for them.

Although they couldn’t have a large wedding they didn’t want to sacrifice the dream wedding they had been planning. And it was exactly that, totally dreamy. From the fairytale aisle for their ceremony to the lush arch filled with greenery, pampas grass and blooms it was a show stopper. And let’s not forget about the dress change from the Bride and her gorgeous bouquet filled with the best garden roses from Grace Rose Farm.

The venue for the reception has high ceilings so we knew we needed to do some tall centerpieces mixed in with low moments to draw your eye up. And repurposing as much of the ceremony as possible was a must. We created a truly magical sweetheart table for the couple by reusing florals from the ceremony aisle and arch. We absolutely loved how it turned out!

And let’s not forget about the cake. Dripped in garden roses! I mean come on, it doesn’t get any better than that.

Liz + Stephen

Tajalli Missaghi

The pandemic has changed so many people’s plans this year, but luckily with some creativity love isn’t being cancelled. This is so true for Liz and Stephen. These two were supposed to have a destination wedding in May, but with the lockdown in place they opted for an intimate wedding with close family and friends. They had just purchased a home and decided what better place to celebrate their love than in their new living room. It was such a beautiful, intimate ceremony in a place that will be sure to create more memories.

The couple spent two weeks painting and getting the house ready before they even moved in so that they could hold their wedding there. And it wouldn’t be a wedding day without flowers, so when Liz told me their backdrop was going to be their fireplace I knew we had to go all out to create a gorgeous focal point in the room. This was the perfect Covid-friendly wedding. So happy to have been a part of their special day. Congrats Liz and Stephen!

Fall Inspired Styled Shoot

Tajalli Missaghi

I have been dreaming of a lush evergreen and gold photoshoot for over a year and finally I just went for it. It was with great hestitation, however, because this was going to be the first photoshoot I planned, styled and produced on my own. If you know me you know I have a history in experiential marketing and event planning, so it isn’t that crazy or outside of my comfort zone, it was just the first time I did it for my business. And, now that it happened AND it got published I am hooked haha. Let’s just say it won’t be the last time I do full design for a shoot or a wedding.

It all started because all of my shoots in the past have been spring/summer and I wanted to showcase something with a richer color palette that would translate to fall or winter. I knew I wanted to create a balance of rich dark green velvet linen with natural accents including walnut. And, I wanted a fireplace as the backdrop :) So, I scouted out locations and The Blaisdell did not disappoint.

The vendors I worked with were amazing, and I couldn’t have done it with out them. Especially Trish Burtzel of Trish Allison Photography! She is absolutely wonderful and so much fun to work with. Truly talented. Scroll down for a full list of the other vendors from the shoot.

For more photos check it out on Minnesota Bride! Thank you so much to Minnesota Bride for the feature!

The installation

Tajalli Missaghi

Putting together the installation for the Macy's Flower Show took a lot of time and planning, but it was totally worth it!  With the help of my amazing assistant, Julia, we finished the install in 3 hours.  Of course that was after a few hours of putting together the base flowers and the tree trunk, but who's counting.  Here are a few photos I took during the install so you can see how it was all constructed.

America the Beautiful - Macy's Flower Show Chicago

Tajalli Missaghi

If you haven't already made it out for the Macy's Flower Show at the Macy's on State Street, you should!  It's amazing!  They have completely transformed the event space on the 9th floor into a breathtaking look at the varying landscapes and flowers of the country.  And, while you are there you should stop by the cosmetics department (on the main floor) to see the installation I did.  It'll be up until Saturday, so hurry!!  Here's a few photos of the installation.  My next blog post will have more photos of the actual install and more details.  I had SO much fun putting this together, hope you love it!

I should add that all of the flowers and greenery used in the installation are native to North America.  The cherry blossoms are a tribute to my late grandparents who recently passed away and to many of my family members who have served our country in the military.  Let it take you on a visual journey of a field of wildflowers in the spring time.

Macy's Flower Show

Tajalli Missaghi

Mark your calendars, the Macy's Flower Show it coming up and The Petal will be there with a demonstration on creating your own spring centerpiece on March 24th (12 pm).  I seriously have to pinch myself every time I think about it, I am truly honored and ecstatic that Macy's asked me to be a part of the event this year!  Hope to see you there!

I'll also be doing a floral installation on the main floor next to cosmetics that'll be up for 3 days (March 24-26th).  The theme this year is America the Beautiful and the idea of the installation is to transport you to a field of wildflowers.  No more spoilers, you'll have to stop by to check it out!
